HBCU AID was created to close the information gap that keeps thousands of HBCU students from accessing funding they qualify for. We're here to change that — one student at a time.
The Problem
There are 105 historically Black colleges and universities in the United States, serving over 300,000 students. These students collectively miss out on hundreds of millions of dollars in scholarship and grant funding every year — not because the money isn't available, but because students don't know it exists.
Most scholarship search platforms treat HBCU students like every other college student. They don't prioritize HBCU-specific awards, don't catalog institutional grants at Black colleges, and don't provide the kind of guided, human-centered support that students from under-resourced communities need.
HBCU AID was built to solve this.

Our platform is free, mobile-first, and designed for students who may not have access to expensive test prep or college counselors. Nobody gets a paywall between them and funding.
Verification Over Volume
We don't list every scholarship we find. We verify each one, confirm active deadlines, and check application requirements. What you see on HBCU AID is funding you can actually access.
HBCU-Centered Design
Every feature, filter, and recommendation is built around the specific needs of HBCU students — not generic college students. We know these schools, these communities, and what matters.
Continuous Improvement
We update our scholarship and grant database regularly. If a deadline changes or new funding becomes available, we update it. The platform grows as the landscape changes.
